Founded in 1997 by the Munzio family and headquartered in Battipaglia (Salerno), OMEPS S.r.l. is an Italian manufacturer of aluminium silo semi-trailers for the transport of dry bulk cargo. The company is positioned in the high-end segment of the market, with vehicles entirely designed and manufactured at its own facilities and offered either in a widely customisable standard configuration (75% of FY25 sales) or as special products co-designed with the client from scratch (25%), a bespoke niche in which OMEPS is the market leader. The exclusive use of aluminium allows for a greater payload and lower emissions than alternative materials. Approximately 80% of sales are generated abroad, mainly across Europe (Norway, Germany and Poland), through direct sales to end customers (58%) and a network of international dealers (42%).
Clessidra Private Debt's investment, structured as a mezzanine facility at HoldCo level, supports the acquisition of 100% of OMEPS by the private equity platform Windex Investment Club. The thesis is underpinned by the company's distinctive positioning in the bespoke vehicle niche, the progressive penetration of aluminium silo semi-trailers over traditional dumper trucks and the structural growth of road freight transport in Europe. The plan encompasses the strengthening of the management and commercial structure, the broadening of the product range and expansion into underpenetrated European markets.
