Founded in 1968, Acque Minerali d'Italia S.p.A. (AMI) is one of the major players in the bottling and distribution of mineral water and soft drinks in Italy. The company operates through eight production sites and twenty-six sources distributed in Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Umbria, and Basilicata. Through its master brands Norda, Sangemini, and Gaudianello, as well as numerous regional brands, AMI holds a prominent position in the GDO (large-scale retail trade) and Ho.Re.Ca. (hotel, restaurant, and catering) channels.

Investment thesis

Clessidra's entry into the capital of Acque Minerali d'Italia was finalized in February 2022 through the conversion of receivables into capital, together with the subscription to a cash capital increase. AMI's turnaround plan leverages the group's current scope and territorial presence, the widespread geographical distribution of its plants, and a strategy to enhance the value of the three master brands in the GDO and Ho.Re.Ca. channels.
