The company, founded in the early sixties, owns three main brands (Roberto Cavalli, Just Cavalli, Cavalli Class) covering different price ranges and attracting various consumer profiles. The product range has a particular focus on women's clothing but also includes other categories such as men's clothing, children's clothing, shoes, bags, and other accessories. Products are distributed through approximately 80 mono-brand stores (DOS and franchising) and about 500 wholesale outlets. Roberto Cavalli also boasts a series of licensing agreements with top-tier partners covering various categories such as Just Cavalli clothing, Cavalli Class clothing, children's clothing, perfumes, eyewear, jewelry and watches, home products, and hospitality services.

Investment thesis

Clessidra Private Equity's investment in Roberto Cavalli had a turnaround connotation considering factors such as the decline in the brand's popularity and product appeal, weak and declining performance in both the retail and wholesale channels. Clessidra Private Equity supported the company by introducing new managerial figures, including a new creative director, optimizing the sales network, revitalizing the brand, and expanding the product portfolio.
