Vega Formazione
Vega Formazione is the leading Italian operator specialising in mandatory workplace health and safety training. The group's roots date back to 1992, with the establishment of Vega Engineering, an engineering consultancy active in safety, energy and the environment; Vega Formazione was established in 2009 and today houses the group's training activities. Headquartered in Mestre (Venice), Vega offers a catalogue of around 500 courses, delivered nationwide via synchronous videoconferencing, through a proprietary e-learning platform, in classrooms or through its training centre equipped for practical demonstrations. The group has around 20,000 active clients, trains around 1,000 people every day and relies on a network of approximately 170 trainers; it is accredited by the Veneto Region and is an authorised provider of the Italian National Council of Engineers. It operates in an extremely fragmented market, whose revenues are largely recurring over time, underpinned by the periodic refresher obligations set out by the legislation and by a high level of client loyalty.
Clessidra Private Equity's investment aims to support Vega's growth in an expanding market, in which the segment served by the group is growing faster than the overall market and in which the regulatory framework strengthens the competitive advantage of larger operators. The thesis is based on organic growth, through the enhancement of digital marketing and increasing penetration of the existing client base; on the development of an offering with a higher share of contractually recurring revenue; and on an acquisition programme aimed at broadening the geographic footprint with new training centres, in a fragmented market with strong momentum towards consolidation. The combination of scale, accreditations and a proprietary technology platform constitutes a structural barrier to entry and a long-term growth driver.
