Acetum is a leading company in the production of balsamic vinegar of Modena IGP. The company exports to over 60 international markets, where it generates a significant portion of its turnover. Acetum mainly sells its products to large retail chains as a private label supplier. The company primarily produces Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP, glazes, and condiments, and, to a lesser extent, wine vinegar and traditional balsamic vinegar. In all product categories, the company has a strong focus on higher quality and a positioning in the premium segment of the market. Acetum, which employs over 100 people, operates through several highly automated plants, all located in the production area of balsamic vinegar of Modena.
Clessidra Private Equity supported the company on one hand by introducing new managerial resources with extensive experience in the consumer goods market to support/lead the existing team; on the other hand, through significant growth initiatives such as strengthening in foreign markets (mainly the USA), entry into new geographical areas (Asia, South America), new channels (food service, e-commerce), and new products (apple vinegar).
