Euticals-AMRI
Euticals S.p.A. is one of the leading Italian manufacturers of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates with a specific focus on the generic drugs segment. The company supports pharmaceutical companies in the development of new drugs through Contract Research Organization (CRO) and Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) activities. In July 2016, 100% of Euticals was sold to Albany Molecular Research Inc. in a transaction partly settled through AMRI common stock.
The sector had interesting fundamentals: it was fragmented and undergoing consolidation, with barriers to entry. Euticals had a good market positioning and many synergies to exploit. Clessidra Private Equity supported the company through the introduction of new managerial figures, rationalization activities of production plants, optimization of the product portfolio, and the supply chain.
