Società Gasdotti Italia S.p.A. provides natural gas transportation services between production sites, storage areas, and regional distributors through a network of high-pressure pipelines covering a length of 1260 km, based on 2 main networks: the "Cellino" network, in the Marche-Abruzzo region, and the SGM network, which extends from Lazio to Puglia through Molise and Campania. In addition to these, there are 4 minor networks located respectively in Veneto, Basilicata, Calabria, and Sicily. The investment was divested in 2007.

Investment thesis

Given the high expectations for natural gas demand growth in Italy and the potential for increased supply in the market, the opportunity appeared very interesting, and SGI was well positioned to gain market share in that market.
